Just outside of Cairns is the beautiful village of Kuranda, snuggled in the Heritage Rainforest and home to the aboriginal tribe of the Djabugay people. The “Village in the Rainforest” is loaded with activities and entertainment all designed to allure and create 'magical' experiences of the natural Australian wildlife and Aboriginal culture.
There are a few things to look forward to in Kuranda, such as the Scenic Railway that takes you through the Rainforest and gushing Barron Falls, The Butterfly Sanctuary, Bird World or the World famour Sky-Rail. The wonder of Kuranda is so enticing that most who visit rarely ever want to leave. We were no exception.
During our brief visit here in search of food (early this year 2019), we popped into a small Cafe called Cafe Azur, hidden in the side-street. The Owners had it for sale. After a few questions, I realized the hidden potential this place had. Long story short, we purchased it a month later and started building the business to what it is today.
If you have never heard of a Jaffle, it is merely a specially designed Toasted Sandwich loaded with selected edibles chosen for its taste, and health benefits. We have a choice of 10 Jaffles with one being the Pan-Jaffle or the Popular Pancake Jaffle with 'Real Banana and Chocolate' fillings served with Ice Cream. Check out the Menu below with our World Famous Omelette!
The Menu - Tasty, filling and definitely Affordable!
If you are ever in the neighbourhood or visiting Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef or the Sky-Rail views of the amazing Rain Forests of Australia, please feel free to visit and let us serve you as you well deserve!

More about us...
Allen and Emma
Allen Vaega and Emma Ciaravaglia are the new Owners of Cafe Azur. After moving from Victoria to Cairns, they saw that Cafe Azur was for sale and immediately recognised its untapped potential. Although neither of them had any experience in the Industry and 3 children in tow, it was to be their biggest challenge to date. This New opportunity has introduced both of them to wonderful people and the beautiful Rain-forest of Kuranda. Please feel free to see them if ever you find yourself in Queensland Australia.
